The Greater Dayton REALTIST® Association (GDRA) mission is "To Serve the Underserved". We seek to accomplish this goal through these four initiatives:
1. The expansion of the Greater Dayton REALTIST® Association chapter: Our expansion will provide an army of committed real estate professionals to take up the cause and spread the good works, information and opportunity for success.
2. Education: The legacy of homeownership is still a new concept in much of our community. While other communities have learned the ins and outs of homeownership from previous generations, our community has been left as renters and tenants. Homeownership provides a community with pride and vesting in the future to the benefits and responsibilities of homeownership.
3. Service: The greatest of all our abilities is the ability to serve others. Our goal is to utilize the combined knowledge, resources and compassion of the Greater Dayton REALTIST® Association to serve the needs of our community. We want to be a resource in the community for the vital services that are lacking and are so devastating to our neighborhoods and families.
4. Avenue to Success: Finally, the Greater Dayton REALTIST® Association wants to be a conduit for area real estate professionals to network and build success both professionally and personally. Each success nourishes the community and each of us.
The Greater Dayton REALTIST® Association, a member of the National Association of Real Estate Brokers (NAREB). NAREB is the oldest and largest African American trade organization. A national coalition of minority real estate professionals came together for the expressed purpose of the mutual sharing of knowledge and experiences to improve their performance in the profession. Our members are called "REALTISTS®", a term which incorporates the many disciplines we represent. Our membership includes real estate agents and brokers, loan officers, mortgage brokers, title companies, appraisers, and more. Although composed principally of African-Americans, the REALTIST® organization embraces all qualified real estate practitioners who are committed to achieving the ideals of our vision, which is "Democracy in Housing". We focus our professional practices on serving the needs of the underserved.
